Board chairman of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jānis Endziņš: "Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK) categorically rejects slander circulating in the media about cooperation in squeezing money through trade missions, because the funding, possibly, has been squeezed by one of former "cooperation partners" of the association together with several more dishonest businessmen, and this case has been investigated by the police for one and a half years already. We completely cooperate with investigators to find out the truth, as it serves also our interests.
We pose a question — why information about events that took place several years ago and which has been investigated by police for one and a half years is being spread by the Head of Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) together with newspaper "Latvijas Avīze"? We can only guess, but it is likely that this is a natural response to the opinion expressed by LTRK that Mr. Ozols should change his occupation, or by attempting to destroy reputation of LTRK someone seeks to influence certain decision-making in the government or the Saeima.
Given the way this information was presented to the public, LTRK will certainly consider a possibility to address court to protect reputation of the association."
