The largest association of Latvian entrepreneurs, LTRK, has received an approval of Concept Design
10 approved volumes of design are the most important element of designing pursuant to UAE requirements, on the basis of which the remaining seven Final Design volume packages with full set of specifications will be elaborated. “In terms of designing we have managed to do the largest part and it just needs to be finished. Currently, according to the plan, we must elaborate and coordinate Final Design in UAE, to receive a construction permit this year and to start organising construction of the Latvian pavilion", tells Board chairman of LTRK and commissioner of Expo 2020 in Latvia, Jānis Endziņš.
Ten prepared volumes of the Concept Design include information that characterises the technical side of the pavilion, exhibition section, describe movement of planned visitors, duration of stay as well as additional ideas and territory planning. Pavilion and service facilities’ architecture designs, retail, safety and telecommunication designs, various technical sections of the pavilion, height marks, graphic and technological solutions of building constructions as well as sustainability package by pointing out ecological, waste, applied materials management and description, are also included in the documents.
“It was very complicated process, therefore, I am truly proud and extend all compliments to the team who was able to implement it successfully within deadlines and at quality set by the organisers of Expo 2020 in Dubai”, J. Endziņš added.
In Expo 2020 that will take place in Dubai Latvia will participate with a pavilion “Ether”, elaborated by architects Kārlis Bērziņš, Niklāvs Paegle and Dagnija Smilga (Riga Architecture Institute) and adapted by local Dubai company “Werner Wanders Falasi Consulting Architects” to meet the requirements of the United Arab Emirates.
Expo 2020 in Dubai will be the largest and the most impressive Expo so far with at least 190 participating countries. The goal of Latvia, when participating in Expo 2020 in Dubai, is to increase export, attract investments as well as promote positive recognisability of Latvia in general.
Expo 2020 in Dubai is seen not only as a major event in the United Arab Emirates, but in all regions of Near East, Africa and Asia, embracing 3.2 billion of residents, thus attracting global interest, because organisers expect at least 17 million visitors, 70% of them foreigners, during the half year of Expo 2020. This is why this is a successful platform to promote cooperation for Latvian entrepreneurs within a framework of different events, telling about their products and services in a global scale.
